Nascar 2023 - GP Germany

Victory at Oschersleben, September 23-24!

Schober Show in Germany!

Victory in Germany

At the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben in Germany, a new chapter in the history of the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series was written. Patrick Schober achieved his first win in EuroNASCAR 2, taking the Ford Mustang #27 of Double V Racing to Victory Lane for the first time.

Having previously secured a podium finish in the Czech Republic, the Austrian delivered an outstanding performance, outpacing Thomas Toffel from Race Art Technology and Melvin de Groot from Team Bleekemolen in an action-packed 16-lap race.

With unwavering determination, Schober took the lead on the ninth lap, battling it out with Gil Linster. Linster later received a drive-through penalty due to a collision with Alberto Naska while vying for the top spot. From that point on, Schober held an uncontested lead, allowing no chances for anyone to surpass the Ford Mustang #27 from Double V Racing.

With this thrilling first win in EuroNASCAR, the 19-year-old makes a significant leap in the rankings, positioning himself in fifth place. Riding this momentum, the Austrian aims to finish the 2023 EuroNASCAR 2 season within the top five overall.

THE HIGHLIGHTS

CLUB CHALLENGE

The German race weekend kicks off on Friday with the Club Challenge taking center stage. Viktor Schiffer is on the hunt for crucial points to climb back up the leaderboard after an unfortunate round in Most. As the track is unfamiliar to all the teams, both the first and second sessions see a high turnout, making it challenging to find clear markers due to the heavy track traffic. However, the Mustang #27 handles well, and Schiffer quickly acclimates to the German tarmac. It's only in the third session that the Club Challenge drivers have the track to themselves. Despite the car being in prime condition and reduced traffic, Viktor struggles to maintain a steady pace, finishing his run in sixth place with some lingering regrets.
